Malaysia Indonesia Business Council
The Malaysia-Indonesia Business Council (“MIBC”) is established as a platform for the Malaysian private sector to discuss, formulate and resolve challenges pertaining to economic cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. The MIBC is committed to a positive business climate that advances existing businesses and attracts new economic opportunities to Malaysia and Indonesia, whilst providing the opportunity to constructively influence the public policies of both countries.
MIBC comprises business community members, which is vital to engage deeper discussions with its Indonesian counterpart, the Indonesia-Malaysia Business Council (“IMBC”) on matters pertaining to trade, investment and SME development of both countries.
The MIBC aims to provide recommendations to the Malaysian and Indonesian governments on:
(i) The development and implementation of economic initiatives, innovation and growth strategies between both countries; and
(ii) Partnership opportunities in the areas of trade, investment, SME development, standards and conformance as well as other new areas of cooperation.
(i) Capitalising on the knowledge, experience and skills available among the business community to assist MIBC with the implementation of the objectives outlined to enhance Malaysia and Indonesia cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and SME development;
(ii) Raising the profile of the business community and planning to support the significant contribution made to the Malaysian economy;
(iii) Providing strategic advice to the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (“MITI”) on issues that affect the business community; and
(iv) Enhancing collaboration by organising activities, seminars, conference, etc.
